Youth Serving Youth

The PROGRAM

YSY is Youth Serving Youth is an “advocacy service program” of the Archdiocesan Youth Apostolate of the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan.

It advocates for and actively implements series of God-centered and Youth participated initiatives and agenda that foster moral and socio-economic well-being of the Archdiocesan Youth Community.

It promotes a series of activities designed to nurture the young people’s understanding and advocacy of the “moral truths” behind various social, cultural, economic, health and environmental issues.

YSY carries the message that the Youth has so much to give. Acknowledged by Pope John Paull II a the greates treasure of the Church, the Youth can be effective agent of change bybeing of service to his fellow youth, thus contrubuting to the well-being of the Family, the Community and the Church.

In the Program, the Apostolate (AYA) values the Youth as:

A Beneficiary (the recipient and object of a Church-based values-formation activities who, at a critical age, must be morally oriented for and towards a Christ-centered present and adult life)

 A Model (as any human person molded in the likeness of Christ able to apply and radiate His virtues for others to emulate and to follow).

A Participant (an actve and productive Chritian both in the promotion of the ideal and in the implementation of the Program).

In matters of morals and faith, the Program’s banner statement leads the youth to his vocation of voicing his

NO to SMOKING, ALCOHOLIM and ADDICTION; GAMBLING; PRE-MARITAL SEX.

YES to GOD, FAMILY, CHURCH and THE YOUTH APOSTOLATE.

 OBJECTIVES of the PROGRAM

The Awareness, Development and Sustenance (ADS) Approach

AWARENESS CAMPAIGN. The fostering of awarenes on pressing isues will enable the Youth to perceive the good and ill effect of these issue for his moral benefit.

DEVELOPMENT. The development of activities designed to address vital issues is complemented by the development of the Youth’s skills and character. Together they are the best and active way to make use of ine’s awareness.

SUSTENANCE. The role of Jesus Christ  in the Youth’s sustained faith only ensures that, armed with awareness and developed activity and capacity, the Youth handles each issue according to its moral context.

“Build your life on the only Model who will not deceive you: JESUS CHRIST”

The program’s banner statement clearly leads the Youth to their vocation of voicing their:

NO to moking, alcoholism and drug addiction, gamblingm pre-marital sex and other ill-cauing ocio-economic realities.

YES to GOD, Family, Church, Youth Apostolate

YSY guides the youth to the truth that with JESUS, the Youth of the Archdiocese can!
